What is PED 2014/68/EU?
The Pressure Equipment Directive sets essential safety requirements for pressure equipment above 0.5 bar in the EU — including the bolting used in flanged connections.
Why PED Compliance Matters for Fastener Buyers
PED Article 4(3) requires that materials (including bolting) used in pressure equipment come from suppliers with a certified quality system audited by an EU Notified Body. Non-PED-compliant fasteners on a CE-marked pressure system are a regulatory violation that can invalidate insurance coverage and halt equipment commissioning.
